Bartlett expressed that the film, premiered in Jamaica on January 23 and later in various international cities, with a global release on February 14, will offer the boost the country seeks as it explores new horizons in tourism.
The Jamaica premiere attracted notable figures like Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Brad Pitt, and other celebrities, creating significant attention and promotion for Jamaica's tourism.
"The movie has brought a lot of attention to our country and will inspire people from all over the world… as fans… and as visitors to experience our culture," stated Mr. Bartlett.
Speaking at a media launch event in Montego Bay, Bartlett noted that the movie is revitalizing the island's film industry by narrating the life story of reggae legend Bob Marley to a global audience. He emphasized that it showcases Jamaica as an excellent location for filmmaking, with its beautiful landscapes, rich culture, history, and a talented pool of actors and filmmakers.
While it's unclear how much of the movie was filmed in Jamaica, Bartlett expressed optimism that the movie's success will stimulate greater interest in Jamaica as a filmmaking destination, aspiring to become a major player in the global film production industry.
